in the second and third week of period one we had our annual introduction, organised by the introcie. and with an already amazing AID behind us, our introduction was the best we have ever had!
On the first introduction day everybody had to get to know each other a bit, so we started by doing a little name round with every buddy group and sailing. We did the sailing in two shifts, so everybody would get the chance to sail and get to know a bit more about Aqua. The sailing was a fun experience for most, but some were unlucky and got a bit of rain on them. Also the wind was not strong this evening, so it was more dobberen than actual sailing. Anyway, after sailing we had a delicious diner: a couscous poke bowl! Javy had been in the kitchen for hours preparing this amazing dish and oh boy was it worth it. And while everybody was chatting along during dinner the time flew by! So we started the activity prepared by the IntroCie, namely the personal bingo! Here everybody got a bingo card with fun facts and you ha to find which fun fact belonged to which person. Of course this made for very fun conversations and so slowly the bingo moved to the campfire where we shared and listened to funny stories about everyone’s fun facts.

On the second introduction day there was luckily no rain, but still no wind unfortunately… this time we could take everyone sailing on one go, which made for some very good pictures. Then after sailing diner was served again and the chatting could start. Meanwhile the first intermember already started to sign up as a member! When everyone had finished their diner we started to from groups and did a pubquizz, which was presented by Janne and Anne-Sterre from the IntroCie. During this pubquizz everyone learned which type of boat is called a ‘strijkijzer’ and that Olaf is not only commissioner intern, but also Vice-Chair. This quiz also brought a good ambience off course, which we brought with us to the campfire where the dessert of the evening was waiting: marshmallows…

On the Tuesday of the second week we hosted a dinghy sailing day at Vada. Here not everyone was invited, but just the people who were particularly interested in dinghy sailing. This was because of the limited capacity we have at Vada. Unfortunately there was not a lot of wind again on this day, but everybody experienced Vada and how we rock there and some even signed up as a new members!
Then it was time for the last introduction day already! On this day we had plenty of wind! In the beginning we even had so much wind that it was only the skippers sailing, but luckily the wind was later strong later in the evening and everyone could have the chance to sail a bit themselves. Meanwhile, the crazy88 (or crazy67 as there were 67 tasks) had started. People had to climb in the mast, exchange things with other boats and give a compliment to their skipper amongst other tasks. In the end we went back to the harbour at sunset and had diner together. During this dinner off course many more people signed up for a membership at Aqua and at the end of the evening we did a reveal at the campfire of how many members we had gotten. While enjoying a drink and marshmallows, first the price for the Crazy67 was presented first and then the amount of new registrations was announced.
And the number is…. 36!!!
We are very happy with this amount of new registrations and hope to see all of our new members back at all of our association evenings for many years to come.
